  5. I have a quince tree in my garden but it is not japonese .With quinces we make excellent jelly !

  6. Hi, it is a very small tree, more a bush, The latin name is Chaenomeles.
In German it is called „Zierquitte“ which means kind of „beautifying/beautiful quince“ and the dictionary gave „Japanese quince“. The fruits of quince bushes are smaller than that of quince trees. But it has much pectin and you can make a kind of Marmalade. (In English Marmalade is made of citrus fruits, in Germany traditionally of all kinds of fruits, but the EU forbid this when you want to sell it outside of small markets or restaurants. At the shops Marmalade has to be made now also of citrus fruits.

    Best regards
