Heartafire
Sie ist keine Dame
Winterzeit
driften in jenseitigem Seufzen,
gefangen in erlesenen Fesseln.
she’s not a lady
Winter
does not empathize
with withered branches
or displaced birds fleeing a wave of
frozen breath.
The howling wind is a laugh out loud and
she hasn’t the grace to cover
her mouth.
A tease of holly and evergreen
flicker at the curve of her billowed thigh.
Glistening folds of hallowed mounds
drift in otherwordly sighs
ensnared in her exquisite binds.

Vielen Dank Bernd, Beautifully translated!
There are two sides to every winter. Well penned. :o)
Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thank you, and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to both of you, too.
Dies ist wunderschön frigide.
My German is quite poor, mostly non-existent, so please forgive the simple phrase. As I read this, I recall that some folks in Chicago call the winter wind the „hawk“ as it so brutal.
Hi Keith, thank you very much for your answer. I like it much.
Greetings from Dresden to Chicago.
